August 19, 1942 was a dark day in Canadian military history. That was the day, during World War II that an amphibious assault on Nazi-occupied France went horribly wrong, leaving 907 Canadian soldiers dead. But there's a lot more to that story. Historian David O'Keefe is the author of One Day In August: The Untold Story Behind Canada's Tragedy At Dieppe.

Actress Louise Ashby has been through a lot in her life. At 22, her Hollywood dreams were shattered before they even began by a traffic accident that crushed her skull. She's had dozens reconstructive surgeries and has over 200 metal bolts and plates in her head. Since then she has become an international motivational speaker, a coach, is developing a cosmetic line and is writing her autobiography.

Peter Franklin, the Gabby Cabby, is in New York to share a slice of the Big Apple from his yellow mobile conveyance lounge. He's also the author of the book Gabby Cabby: The Inside Scoop from New York's Last English-Speaking Cabdriver.
